This is a newly acquired Whip-o-Lite shade (April 7, 2019) that I chose to display simply for it's total mystery. I know of at least one other collector that has one, but there is absolutely no known information on when it was made or it's design number available on it at this time. It is defiantly made from Whip-0-Lite shade paper but that's about all that is really known about it.
I would guess, that it was made between 1950 and 1956. The sales of Aladdin lamps were far past their glory days by this time and the production of shades for them was following the same patch as the lamps themselves. The production of Whip-o-Lite shades cease in 1956 and to my knowledge there are no sales brochures that illustrate the shades after 1949 or possibly 1950.
While some people are familiar with this style of shade they are not familiar with it's year of production or it's design number. If you would have any written literature supplying the year of production and design number for it I would greatly appreciate it if you would kindly let me know it's history.
